On May 14, the second day of 7th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), the Release Ceremony of 2011 China’s Cultural Brands Report & China’s Cultural Brand Value Rankings kicked off at Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center.
The ceremony was hosted by the Research Center of Chinese Cultural Industrial Brand of Central South University, the only one of its kind in China.
Two hundred cultural brands of fifteen categories were listed in the rankings. Among them, twenty two including Voice of China and Talkweb Information System were Hunan-born, accounting for 11% of the total.
The report analyzed the prominent problems and development trend of China’s cultural brands in 2010. It highlighted transforming the development mode of culture industry as the main theme of China’s cultural industry development during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period.
Lu Jianping, director of Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee remarked that efforts should be made to drive the growth of cultural industry through cultural brand development. The cultivation of cultural brands and development of cultural industry need the intelligent support from academic institutions including universities.
