Changsha Adds More Trains to Meet Dragon Boat Festival Deman

To cope with an anticipated high passenger flow during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday from May 31 to June 2, Changsha Railway Station announced on May 22 to add 18 pairs of provisional passenger trains, mainly to provide sufficient short-distance transport in Hunan Province. Changsha Railway Station predicted that it will carry around 278 thousand passengers during the holiday, up 4.16 percent from a year earlier. The daily peak amount would probably reach as many as 95 thousand on May 30 and 31.

Hunan’s eight high-speed railway stations are expected to transport a total of 346 thousand passengers, an increase of 26.7 percent year on year. These stations are estimated to see a peak daily passenger flow of 100 thousand on June 2.
