Changsha Celebrates World Earth Day

On April 21, the day before the 45th World Earth Day, Hunan Province launched its Promotion Week celebrating the occasion in Meixi Lake, Changsha. Over 100 students representing various colleges, middle schools and primary schools gathered to present the achievements made in environment protection and caring about the earth.

This World Earth Day activity, themed “Cherishing Resources of the Earth and Transforming Development Pattern—Intensively and Economically Utilizing Territorial Resources, Jointly Protecting Natural Ecological Space”, is being hosted by the Department of Land and Resources of Hunan Province, China.

In the activity, the Department of Land and Resources of Hunan Province conferred plates to the Experimental Primary School of Yuelu District and Changjun Meixihu Middle School.

Besides, various schools of Hunan actively participated in the activity. Hunan University held the “Knowledge Transition” book donation activity, strengthening students’ awareness of environment protection; Central South University launched the “Connecting Hearts Public Benefit Activity”, recycling the waste cartridges and donating them to children in poor mountainous areas; and the Environment Protection and Energy Saving Association of Hunan Institute of Finance and Economy developed “disk activities”, promoting “green living” to save resources.
