Foreign Economic Cooperation Soars Up in Hunan

According to the 2012 National Economic and Social Development Statistical Bulletin of Hunan Province revealed by the Hunan Provincial Bureau of Statistics on March 7, the provincial GDP totaled 2,215.42 billion yuan with a growth of 11.3% over the previous year. Disposable income of urban residents in Hunan surmounted 20,000 yuan for the first time, reaching 21,319 yuan.

Especially, the foreign economic cooperation experienced a strong growth in 2012. The actual utilized foreign direct investment was 7.28 billion US dollors, a year-on-year growth of 18.4%, ranking first among the provinces in Central China. By the end of 2012, 127 enterprises of Fortune Global 500 had invested in Hunan.

Deputy Director-General of the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province Zhou Chuan noted that with the support of 100 domestic and overseas business associations and chambers of commerce, Hunan Province plans to launch a point-to-point investment attraction for specialization and industrial chain, targeting 100 multinational corporations this year.
