Gas-driven Taxis and Buses Take the Road in Wulingyuan

On January 10, the first batch of clean energy buses and taxis were put into operation in Wulingyuan Scenic Area, a site of world natural heritage in Zhangjiajie City. This is another significant move to implement the “Blue sky” environmental operation in response to the advocacy of “Clean air is invaluable” in the area.

According to the collected data from Wulingyuan’s self-monitoring stations set up by environmental protection departments of China, the scenic area has excellent air quality, making it a real “Natural oxygen bar”. After visiting the scenic area, Nancy Dick, former vice governor of Colorado, exclaimed, “Every breath in Zhangjiajie is worthy of five dollars.”

In recent years, the scenic area has banned 74 coal-fired boilers of hotels and schools, transforming coal into electricity or gas. And this time, the energy material of 50 taxis and 24 buses were changed from oil to gas.
