Hunan Changsha Celebrates Chinese Spring Festival

During the Spring Festival of 2013, Changsha has prepared colorful activities for citizens at various scenic spots, providing not only attractive shows and games, but also various local snacks for tourists.

Wonderful fairs on the theme of “A Bite of Spring Festival” are launched at the Changsha Window of the World from February 10 to 24. Six days before that, a large-scale Temple Fair of Lantern Show has been opened along the Culture Square of the Kaifu Temple till February 24. The Fiery Palace has also hosted a large-scale temple fair starting on the first day of the lunar year, providing not only its delicate food but also handicraft shows of intangible cultural heritages. While for the whole month from February 5 to March 5, over 50 assemblages of beautiful lanterns are to be staged on the Meixi Lake, open from 18:00 to 23:00 to visitors for free. The free of charge also happens in the Changsha Ecological Zoo, with 19 programs of its carnie (a total admission fee of RMB 295) open for free from February 10 to 16. Household-based activities will be unveiled in the Submarine World in Changsha, with two lucky families being randomly picked out in the Science and Education Pavilions at 13:00 and 15:30 respectively to have a close contact with polar animals in the Submarine World. A Lantern Fair has also been unveiled in the Hunan Martyrs Park, attracting visitors to enjoy the beauty of lanterns for free till February 25.
