As a key content of the low-carbon city construction program, Changsha is the first city in China to propose the concept of “green railway”. The city aims to reduce energy consumption of Changsha’s underground railway traffic system to a level that is 20% lower than the current national average.
The concept will be applied throughout the procurement, construction, operation and maintenance of No.1 and No. 2 subway lines in Changsha to save energy by at least 20%. It will be the first green subway prototype nationwide.
