Hunan Changsha Stages a Spring Festival Gala of the People

On the evening of February 3, the 2013 People’s Spring Festival Gala, titled “Grand Ceremony for Ringing out the Old Year”, was staged in Changsha, Hunan Province by nearly 300 grass-roots performers, giving the audience an early taste of the joy and festivity of the New Year.

Besides the main venue in Changsha, the gala is also touring affiliated venues running through the country from south to north, including the Liu Laogen Grand Stage in Shenyang City of Liaoning Province, the stage next to the landmark Wu Ta (Black Pagoda) building of Fujian Province, in Zhengding Ancient City of Hebei Province, and in the ice and snow world of Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. Audiences all over China will enjoy a spectacular three-hour performance made up of sucession of various local song, dance, and acrobatics.
