Hunan Swimmers Made Good Results at FINA

After sixteen days of fierce competition, the 14th FINA World Championships in Shanghai dropped its curtain on July 31.

Five Hunan athletes took part in this competition, marking the largest number of Hunan players during the recent FINA World Championships. They harvested considerable success during the games, winning three silver medals and two bronze ones.

Particularly, Sun Wenyan won two silver medals and one bronze medal in three synchronized swimming competitions. He Min won the silver medal in men’s one-meter springboard diving. Li Xuanxu broke the Asian record of the women’s 1500-meter freestyle swimming, winning the bronze medal with 15 minutes 58 seconds and 2 milliseconds. In addition, Tan Feihu, as main force of Chinese men’s water polo team, helped the team win the No. 15 place in the game.

On the last day of the competition, young contestant Li Xuanxu ranked No.6 in women’s 400-meter individual medley and Huang Chaosheng who made his debut in the FINA ranked No. 4 in men’s 400-meter individual medley competition.
