Li Tianjiao and other nine Chinese teachers from Middle School of Cha’ensi Town in Xiangtan County headed for the Philippine Chinese Education Research Center (PCERC) on May 27 for one-year teaching.
They were selected by the Hunan Overseas Exchange Association under the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council. The first group of 10 Chinese teachers in 2015, from primary schools and middle high schools in Changsha and Xiangtan, shoulder the task of spreading Chinese culture. They will teach Chinese language and culture as well as hold teaching-related trainings in Chinese schools in Philippine, so as to promote oversea Chinese students’ language proficiency and enhance the teaching quality of Chinese teachers of these schools.
On the morning of May 29, these Chinese teachers attended the annual work conference of overseas teachers held by PCERC. Joseph Ejercito Estrada, mayor of Manila, on behalf of the municipal government, extended his welcome to them.
