Recently, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China released the latest annual evaluation report of national industrial development quality. It showed that Hunan’s industrial development quality ranks ninth nationwide, and takes the lead in provinces with greatest potentiality, staying top among the six provinces in central China.
This year, the province has obsoleted out-dated industrial projects in such four main types as smelting, cement making, tanning and lead-acid battery, involving 162 enterprises, which effectively optimized the stock structure of industrial economy. Currently, the ratio that the added-value created by the six high energy consumption industries takes in the province’s above scale industry dropped by about 10%, from 41.4% in 2007 to 31.5% in 2012. The development quality of industrial economy has seen significant improvement.
