Italian Contemporary Art of Cross-Cultural Vision to Debut in Fenghuang

The “Italian Contemporary Art of Cross-Cultural Vision” will make its debut at Fenghuang Ancient Town on April 10.

The Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze (academy of fine arts of Florence), Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma (a public tertiary academy of art in Roma), and Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera (academy of fine arts of Brera) jointly recommended 25 Italian contemporary artists to the Organizing Committee of Fenghuang Art Annual Exhibition. The Organizing Committee selected more than 140 pieces of work from the 200 entries.

Curator Zhang Zedan introduced that Chinese ink painting-themed creation activity will be held after the opening ceremony: while enjoying the wonderful Chinese traditional music and dance performances, Italian guests will follow Chinese art master Huang Yongyu and other ink painting artists to experience the creation process of Chinese ink painting.

In addition, a series of cultural exchange activities will be arranged. The “President Forum” will be attended by presidents of the three Italian academies of fine arts mentioned above, as well as the presidents of Chinese well-known academies of fine arts. They will have an in-depth discussion on the theme of “The Development Direction of Art Education in the Context of Globalization.”

The forum focuses on three topics of “The Path and Orientation of Contemporary Teaching of the Italian Academies of Fine Arts”, “How to Construct the Contemporary Art Education System with Chinese Characteristics”, and “Art Education Crisis and Countermeasures in the Age of Globalization”.

Italian artists participating in the exhibition will spend 15 days on artistic creation in Fenghuang and Zhangjiajie, and offer lectures on Chinese-Italian fine arts.
