Special food from Taiwan, such as pineapple cakes, Ali tea, and slimming coffee, were well received, attracting many visitors.

Food culture of Taiwan and mainland China is interlinked, and spicy food is preferred both in Hunan and many places of Taiwan, according to Wu Jinsong, president of the Chinese Consumers’ Industrial and Commercial Development Association. He believed that there is great market for Taiwan food in mainland China.

The expo was jointly held by the Department of Commerce of Hunan Province and the Trade Promotion and Exchange Center of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. Themed “green, safety, and development”, it aimed to gather the global food, display the image of enterprises, and promote food culture. In addition to food exhibition, the organizing committee held a special procurement fair to provide a professional one-to-one negotiation platform for enterprises and exhibitors.
