The 9th Hunan-Taiwan Financial Cooperation Forum Unveils in Changsha

The 9th Hunan-Taiwan Financial Cooperation Forum was unveiled in Changsha on November 1. Distinguished guests from across the Taiwan Straits including Governor of Hunan Province Du Jiahao, Vice President of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) Li Yafei and member of the Standing Committee of the Kuomintang Central Committee Hong Yu Cin attended the Forum.

After the opening ceremony, 13 contracts, totaling 3.596 billion USD, were signed in agriculture, cultural creativity, electronic information, mechanical manufacture and infrastructure construction. 26 projects were introduced and 4 billion USD were attracted.

The three-day forum features the business cooperation between Hunan and Taiwan, the exchange between the two sides, and the inspection and cultural visits in Hunan. During the period, the headquarter building for Taiwan businessmen laid its foundation stone and ceremonies were held to mark the signing of the headquarters project as well as the Jiulong Vegetable Research Center and Demonstration Base project. In terms of exchange and communication, forums including the Cultural Creative Industrial Cooperation Forum and the Modern Agriculture Cooperation Forum were held. The guests also had inspection visit to Hunan-Taiwan Jiulong Vegetable Research Center and Demonstration Base, some of Changsha’s cultural scenic spots. Hunan-Taiwan cooperation will be further deepened to propel Hunan’s new-type industrialization, new-type urbanization, agricultural modernization, informatization and “Two-Oriented” Society construction.
