The Award-list for Contributions to China’s Culture & Tourism Development was released at the First China International Cultural Tourism Festival in Zhangjiajie on the evening of Nov.6. Prize-winning works include the song “Shepherd Melody” and the film “Shaolin Temple” and other classic works.
Nine awards will be given to outstanding cultural and artistic works that have exerted a tremendous impact on the development of China’s cultural travel industry since the founding of New China.
Each of these awards consists of one gold medal and two silver medals, relevant sources told the reporter.
The gold medal is made of 320g pure gold in the shape of Square Zun with the design of four sheep heads on four sides. This ancient bronze vessel dated back to the Shang Dynasty (17th-11th century B.C.) was unearthed in Ningxiang County. It is known as the largest square Zun among the existing bronzes during that period.
The first China International Cultural Festival was co-organized by the Ministry of Culture, the National Tourism Administration and the Hunan Provincial People’s Government;, jointly sponsored by the Cultural Department of Hunan Province, the Hunan Provincial Tourism Bureau and the Zhangjiajie Municipal People’s Government. The festival runs from Oct.23 to Nov.13.
