Zhao Xiaoming, Mayor of Zhangjiajie City Government, host Meeting about constructing Global Observatories on Sustainable Tourism in Zhangjiajie on 24thNovember. UNWTO start Global Observatories on Sustainable Tourism in 2004. Global Observatories on Sustainable Tourism is that UNWTO choose some tour areas to research their culture, society, econmy and envirorment protection. According to the research, find a sustainable development way for tour area. The first Global Observatories on Sustainable Tourism set up in Yangshuo in China in 2005. UNWTO established Monitoring Center for UNWTO Sustainable Tourism Observatories in Zhongshan University in 2009.
