The Xiangjiang Forum lowers its curtain on Oct. 30, 2016. Representatives of ancient towns from six countries, including the UK, Japan, and Cambodia, discuss about inheritance and development of ancient town culture.
The Development Research Think Tank (DRTT) Forum 2016 — Xiangjiang Forum & World Summit on Leisure Agriculture and Rural Tourism concluded at Wangcheng, Changsha, on Oct. 30. Former Director of the Development Research Center of the State Council Lu Baifu, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Liu Lianyu, and Changsha Vice Mayor Chen Zhong attended and addressed the closing ceremony.
During the two-day forum, over 200 ancient town representatives and experts, and think tank scholars on ancient town study from home and abroad, gave lectures and discussed about ancient town development issues associated with whole-region travel. The attendees also toured around Wangcheng District, to get a better understanding of its economic and social development, as well as profound Huxiang culture. This forum would bring great opportunity for the further development of Wangcheng’s ancient town cluster built along the Xiangjiang River.
Eight industrial magnates contracted with Wangcheng District for investment and cooperation, including China South Publishing & Media Group, Huaxia Investment Group, and the CYTS.
Over the past two years, 33 leisure travel and cultural projects have settled at the ancient town cluster built along the Xiangjiang River, among which five projects exceeding a hundred million yuan investment. These projects will vigorously fuel the ancient towns’ development.
