Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge Starts Trial Operation

On Aug. 20, 2016, the glass bridge across the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon started trial operation. The bridge is 430 meters long and six meters wide, hovering over a 300-meter (984-foot) vertical drop. It is capable of holding 800 people at once. Its glass walkway is 375 meters long. The bridge is made of three layers of the tempered glass. It is known as the world’s longest and highest glass-bottomed bridge.
