Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Scenic Area Builds Fabulous East Line Tour

The longest glass bridge and highest bungee jumping platform on the planet–innovations that “shocked” the world–are both found at Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon scenic area, a World Natural Heritage site. With an annual increase of 30% in tourist reception capacity, it has leaped to national 4A level status within a few years and has now become the highlight of the Zhangjiajie East Line Tour.

On January 8, scenic area staff reported that they received nearly 659,000 tourists from home and abroad in 2012, a growth of over 30% from the previous year.

The scenic area continues strive towards perfecting tour routes, boat tours, parking lots and other reception facilities.   Meanwhile, it utilizes its geographic advantages to further enrich the travel experience, with the construction of the world’s highest and longest glass bridge (an investment of 200 million yuan) now entering the crucial stage.

Polls show that over 93% of visitors to the Grand Canyon in 2012 had a “great experience”, and it has been voted as one of the Netizens Ten Best Cultural Scenic Spots.
