The postcards printed with 23 Hunan Geopark sceneries are now available, such as Yubi Peak of Zhangjiajie, Bajiao Stronghold of Langshan Mountain, and Red Stone Forest of Guzhang County.
Hunan Geopark postcards were issued in Changsha on March 19, 2018. There are 12,000 sets in the first batch, each with 23 sheets. They have photograhs and introduce each of Hunan’s 23 Geoparks.
Zhangjiajie Geopark has become a nationally and internationally famous tourist destination. Its ‘forest’ of quartz sandstone peaks is unique in the world, and the representative scenic spot, Yubi Peak, is featured.
Hunan has a variety of rich geological resources. There are 32 established geological accounting for 1.4% of the national land area. During the past three years, Hunan’s geological parks have welcomed more than 180 million tourists.
Yin Xuelang, deputy director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Land and Resources, said that Hunan will strengthen protection and use of geoparks in the future, test a program of natural assets registration, and establish a framework of laws, management systems, and standards for use to regulate their management.
