On December 2nd, 2012, “stone eggs” struck Yangjiajie Scenic Spot in Zhangjiajie city. These “eggs” are shaped like eggs of dinosaurs and their cores are white crystals. Since Zhangjiajie Landform is very typical in Yangjiajie Scenic Spot and the mountain in which these “eggs” were found is formed of quartz sandstone, some insiders believe that there is a great possibility that these “eggs” are quartzite.
Each “egg” weighs1 kgand is as big as 6 times the size of a normal egg. The faces of these “eggs” are with white color, glossy, and with muck shaped like nets seems made from ridges of farmland and also like a map full of lines. Whether these “eggs” are that of dinosaurs or just quartzite? When had them been formed and what is their value? Answers are on-coming from the identification of those experts from Yangjiajie Natural Reserve and Resort. Yangjiajie, located in the northwest of Wulingyuan, next toTianziMountain, is a newly-found resort of Wulingyuan Scenic Spot, which is featured with marvelous mountains and clear creeks and lakes, and has picturesque landscape which is very charming. Moreover, the main scenery spots are known asWulongVillage,TianboMansion, One Step to the Heaven, Longquan Waterfall, etc.
